Within the police department, there are several different divisions that work together to make the department run smoothly, including:

While some divisions have more personnel than others, as a whole,  the Oxford Village Police Department has approximately 35 people on staff.

Administration
The Administration  Division consists of the Chief M. Neymanowski. The main goal of this division is to oversee the day-to-day operations of the police department as a whole.  The Chief of Police can be reached by either calling the non-emergency number 248-628-2581 or by email at police@villageofoxford.org.

Division Chaplain's
The Village of Oxford Police Department utilizes two dedicated individuals for Chaplain duties. The Chaplin’s are available 24 hours a day to assist officers and citizens during times of tragic events.

Code Enforcement & Ordinances
This division is run under the direction of both the Chief of police and Village Manager. This division is primarly by the dayshift officers on duty. They handles all code enforcement questions, concerns and request to investigations for possible code/ordinances violations. If you have any code or ordinances complaints or questions please feel free to call our non-emergency number 248-628-2581.

Communications
The Communications Division consists of 8 police services officers(PSO), 3 full-time and 5 part-time. The Communications Division handles all radio traffic from the patrol officers on the road and all phone calls that come into the department.  The Communications Division also handles all 911 calls for the entire area of Oxford, both Village and Township areas. The Communications Division also dispatches all fire and EMS service calls for both the Village and Township. Any calls that come into the Communications Division needing to be handled by any other agency can easily be transferred. The Communications Division also has the capability to dispatch for our surrounding fire departments in times of power outages and emergencies.

Detective Bureau
This division handles all follow-up and on-going investigations. The bureau is part of the Patrol Division. Any requests for information regarding an on-going investigation must go through either the Chief of Police or the Sergeant of the Patrol Division.

Patrol
The Patrol Division has 10 Certified Officers (four full time and six part time) that patrol the streets within the Village 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. One of the main goals of this division is to be the community's personal link to the police department. All Patrol Officers are First Aid and CPR certified and are willing to go the extra mile to make any encounter with this agency the best as possible.

Records
The Records Division, headed by Donna Bossardet, handles all filing of police reports, requests for copies of reports (fee-based service), incoming evidence, cost recovery and other miscellaneous items. Any requests for copies of reports will be directed here. Reserve Police
This division consists of 13 reserve officers. This division is completely voluntary and has no cost to the tax payers. Sgt. Solwold oversees this division and has two commanders within this division that handle all scheduling and events planning needs. The main goal of this division is to supplement the patrol division. The reserve officers work mainly on Friday and Saturday nights. They patrol on foot in the downtown area. They also handle most of the traffic control assignments for holiday parades and other special events. Reserve officers attend local events and provide, at no cost, finger printing kits to parents for their kids. If you have any questions regarding the Reserve Division, they can be directed to Sgt.
