Sgt. Michael Solwold received his degree in criminal justice in 1993. At that time he started with this agency as a reserve officer. In 1996, while holding a full time position at Crossroads for Youth, he graduated from the police academy and was promoted from reserve officer to part time officer. Later in 1996, he was sent to Michigan State Police School for D.A.R.E. and was promoted to school liaison officer for Oxford Schools. He held this position until 2000. In 2002, he was again promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Over the course of his career here, with the Village of Oxford Police Department, Sgt. Solwold has received several awards. Of these awards, the most cherished by Sgt. Solwold is the award he received for employee of the year in 2004.
